FIELDS OF STUDY
Vehicle testing
We offer testing capabilities for combustion analysis for ICE equipped vehicles and power flow analysis for electrified ones. Our lab is able to measure in-cylinder operating parameters (e.g. indicated pressure, species concentrations) as well as all dynamic electric signals in hybrid and electric vehicles. Testing can be done either on the chassis dyno or on the road under real driving conditions to provide a complete and detailed overview of vehicle performance.
L-category vehicles
We combine chassis and on-road emission testing of such small vehicles to understand their real environmental impact.
Exhaust aftertreatment and alternative fuels
We research, test, and develop cutting-edge emission control solutions aimed at reducing air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions generated during the combustion of conventional and alternative (e.g. H2, NH3, CH3OH) fuels, all while optimizing combustion efficiency.
On-board Diagnostics (OBD), On-board Monitoring (OBM) and Anti-tampering
We design, test and evaluate cutting-edge diagnostic and monitoring tools that ensure future vehicles meet regulatory requirements while safeguarding against tampering.
Non-exhaust emissions
With exhaust emissions dropping or even non-existent for electrified vehicles, emissions from tyres and brakes become increasingly important. At LAT, we design and setup sampling and measurement systems with the capacity to measure particle emissions produced by the vehicles on the road, hence providing a realistic picture of how much pollution is produced under real drive conditions.
