Prof. Grigorios Koltsakis received his Diploma and Phd from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently a Professor at the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics of Aristotle University and is specialized in Internal Combustion Engines, with emphasis on catalysis and after-treatment technology. His research and teaching interests further include catalysis, heat transfer and numerical methods. He has participated as research engineer and primary investigator in more than 20 projects funded by the European Union and by the automotive industry. Prof. Koltsakis is a regular reviewer in more than 25 scientific journals and has authored 60 papers in scientific journals and more than 40 papers in international conferences and holds 2 patents. He has received the Arch T. Colwell Merit Award as wells as two Oril presentation awards from SAE International. He has also received the first Innovation prize from the Research Committee of Aristotle University. Prof. Koltsakis currently leads a research group which is active in the simulation and evaluation of after-treatment technologies in close collaboration with the international automotive industry.
Prof. Grigorios Koltsakis is a partner and scientific consultant at e:misia since 2021. From 2007 to 2021, he was scientific director of Exothermia SA (currently member of Gamma Technologies group), a spin-off company developing simulation software for emission control technologies. He has authored more than 120 scientific papers, holds 2 international patents and enjoys his free time on the basketball court.
