LAT started development in 3-way catalyst modeling more than 10 yearsago, in the frame of EU-funded research projects. Since then, the development of 3-way catalyst modeling is a subject of continuous and particular interest, forming the core of 3 PhD's. Numerous research papers have been published in scientific journals and Congresses on different aspects of 3-way catalyst modeling, with emphasis on transient phenomena, system optimization and On Board Diagnostics.3-way catalyst modelling is a very complicated task due to the interaction of heat and mass transfer phenomena coupled with heterogeneous reactions at highly transient conditions. LAT axi-symmetric modelling approach has been pioneer in the simulation of transient phenomena with emphasis on oxygen storage and successful modeling applications in real world driving cycles. |
