The Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics (LAT) belongs to the Energy Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department, in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Its educational and research activities cover the following fields:
The Laboratory was founded in 1974, as the Chair of Applied Thermodynamics of the Faculty of Engineering, in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 1983 it was included in the Energy Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Professor K. N. Pattas was the Director of the Laboratory from 1975 until his retirement in 2001. Since 2001, LAT is directed by Professor Zissis Samaras.
LAT facilities stretch over an area of 600 m2 inside the Aristotle University Campus. 400 m2 are occupied by laboratory facilities, while the remaining 200 m2 are office areas.
LAT is a member of Hellas Lab and associate member of EARPA (European Automotive Research Partners Association).
