Dr Savas Geivanidis is a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics of the Aristotle University Thessaloniki. He specializes on vehicle emissions. His research work focuses on instantaneous emission measurement and high time resolution modelling. He has been particularly involved in emission factor modelling and emission inventories. He carries experience in modelling and evaluation of OBD systems for light duty and heavy duty vehicles. He has done extensive research work on biofuels and the assessment of their effect on engine components as well as on alternative fuels and fuel additives. He has been actively involved in several research projects funded by both the EU and the private sector on emission related legislation as well as product development. He has taken part in a number of key research projects in Europe, including the FP5 Artemis, FP5 Particulates, FP7 Transphorm and others.
